It was a beautiful morning for our beach clean up for Clean Up Australia Day in March.
In just under an hour our volunteers (38 in total including 19 children) picked up a huge amount of rubbish on Avoca Beach and the surrounds including: takeaway coffee cups, plastic bottle tops, plastic take away containers, beer bottles, over 150 cigarette butts, a lawn mower, a fishing rod, metal bits, food packaging, clothing, single use water bottles and more.
In total we collected 6kg of recyclables (bottles and cans) and 16 kg of general rubbish. So a huge effort for the 2023 Clean Up Australia Day.
Thanks again to everyone who helped on the day, to Clean up Australia and the Central Coast Council for proudly supporting our event.
Our next clean up is planned for June 4th so hope to see you there!
